Official Ruling
You can choose to find fewer than four cards if you want. If you find one or two cards, your opponent must choose for them to be put into your graveyard, even if they don't want to.

Gifts Ungiven was unbanned in commander on April 22, 2025. This is a beloved card with a great history, and we're excited to return it to Commander. A fair Gifts Ungiven is very fun and akin to Fact or Fiction in the politics and interplay between players it can create. Gifts Ungiven was unrestricted in vintage on January 19, 2015. Years ago, Gifts Ungiven was dominating Vintage tournament play. However, this has not been the case recently, and the card might invigorate some less-played Vintage decks.
