Search syntax

OPERATOR REFERENCE

The card search bar accepts Scryfall-style operators. Combine them with spaces (AND), or, and parentheses. Click any example to run it.

Operators

c:
color: · ci: · identity:
Color identity. Use WUBRG letters in any order, or `c` for colorless.
t:
type:
Type-line substring match (regex). Partial words like `equip` or `creat` work.
supertype:
super:
Exact supertype match (Legendary, Basic, Snow, World, …). Naming a non-card type — plane, phenomenon, scheme, vanguard, emblem, token — brings those cards into the results.
subtype:
sub:
Exact subtype match. Multi-word subtypes need quotes.
o:
oracle: · text:
Oracle text contains. Quote multi-word phrases.
cmc:
mv:
Mana value. Operators: `:` `=` `<` `<=` `>` `>=`.
set:
s: · e:
Set code (e.g. neo, mh3, lci). Finds every card with a printing in that set, shown in that printing.
r:
rarity:
Rarity: common, uncommon, rare, mythic, special, bonus.
f:
format: · legal:
Format legality. Card must be legal in the named format.
a:
artist:
Artist name (exact match — wrap in quotes).
is:
Boolean flags. Supported: `commander`, `reserved`, `extra` (any non-card row), plus per-layout shorthands `artseries`, `token`, `emblem`, `scheme`, `plane`, `vanguard`, `host`, `augment`, `reversible`.
layout:
Scryfall layout. Real-card layouts (normal, split, transform, modal_dfc, adventure, saga, battle, …) are returned by default. Non-card extras — both extra layouts (art_series, token, emblem, scheme, planar, vanguard, host, augment, double_faced_token, reversible_card) and insert-only type lines ("Card", "Hero") — are excluded unless you opt back in with `layout:`, an `is:<layout>` helper, `is:extra`, or by naming the type (`t:plane`, `t:token`).
slug:
Match by canonical slug. Comma-separated for a list.

Combining queries

Implicit AND
Adjacent terms are combined with AND.
OR
Match either side.
Negation
Prefix an operator with `-` to exclude what it matches. On `set:` it skips those printings, not the card — the card shows in another printing.
Parentheses
Group expressions to control precedence.
Quoted phrases
Bare quotes match the card name; quoted values keep operator parsing.
