Winota, Joiner of Forces

- WWizards of the Coast2020-04-17Official RulingAny effects that say that the Human can’t attack (such as that of Propaganda, or if you get a Human with defender) affect only the declaration of attackers. They won’t stop the Human you find from entering the battlefield attacking.
- WWizards of the Coast2020-04-17Official RulingIf more than one non-Human creature you control attacks, Winota’s ability triggers separately for each of them. For example, if three non-Human creatures attack, you won’t look at the top eighteen cards of your library at once; you’ll look at six, finish resolving the ability, and then repeat the process twice more as the other instances of the ability resolve.
- WWizards of the Coast2020-04-17Official RulingAlthough the Human is an attacking creature, it was never declared as an attacking creature. This means that abilities that trigger whenever a creature attacks won’t trigger when it enters the battlefield attacking.
- WWizards of the Coast2020-04-17Official RulingYou choose which player or planeswalker the Human is attacking. It doesn’t have to be attacking the same player or planeswalker that the non-Human creature is attacking.

- Wizards of the Coast2020-07-13Winota, Joiner of Forces was banned in historic on July 13, 2020. Because we feel the data shows a positive impact from the current suspensions, and because it is unlikely to be safe to reintroduce these cards to Historic anytime soon, Winota, Joiner of Forces is banned in Historic. - Wizards of the Coast2020-05-18Winota, Joiner of Forces was banned in brawl on May 18, 2020. On the balance side of things, we're seeing that high win rates of decks using Winota, Joiner of Forces as a commander are leading to increased play rates and reduced diversity of play experiences for Brawl players. We're choosing to make a change here in order to open up more viable choices for self-expression in the Brawl metagame.
